Monthly Photos - 7 Months

Sorry for the delay - we were traveling for Thanksgiving, so the blog posts are a little behind schedule!

Here is the 7 month shot and a few bonus ones because they were too cute not to share!

Goblin or gobblin'?

We had several Halloween adventures this year - aka play dress up with Abigail!

We stopped by the gym for their Halloween party and then to Amma for theirs and to say hi to my New Mama class friends, none of whom we got to see! But we got some cute pics of Abigail!

Sunday was the annual All Saints Eve party and costume contest at church. Abigail won the prize for the most adorable little giraffe ever!

And on the actual day itself, we put her in her "My first Halloween" onesie courtesy of Grandma Rae, for daycare.

On another note, we have continued to offer her solids, and there have now been a couple of times that I think she actually swallowed something! I baked up some sweet potato "fries" that she actually figured out was food and was edible, though not without significant hesitation. We also gave her avocado slices, which seem to be the winner - that is, when she can keep it in her grasp (slippery little things!). All in all, we may be doing less of the purée thing. The past few weeks, her dislike of solids may have been related to the newness or not yet knowing how to process the food once it hit her mouth, but I have to wonder if it may also be a bit of the strong-willedness of our little miss Abigail that she prefers being in control, which she is when we give her chunks of food to gnaw on.

"Uh oh! Some of that stuff actually made it into my mouth! Now what?"

Then, last night, I was mashing up some roasted garlic to make garlic butter, and Abigail was playing on the kitchen floor, so I decided to do a little taste test. I put a little on my finger and put it in her mouth. She looked confused at first, but then grabbed my finger to put it back in her mouth! She then got distracted by the whisk (best.baby.toy.ever). Later, when Claude and I were enjoying our baguette slices with garlic butter, she again grabbed my hand and brought it to her mouth and sucked on my bread. Looks like she may have also been protesting the blandness of the foods we tried to give her!
